These Boots Are Made for Everything Jayne Min talks personal style, social media and boots that are made for walking and everything in between
Jayne Min, the LA-based creative consultant behind website STOP IT RIGHT NOW, has been long stood out in the sea of predictable and girlish blogs that have flooded our digital consciousness over the last few years. With a refreshingly straightforward style and innate sense of everything that is ‘now,’ she has rightly landed her closet on the top of our wish list of wardrobes we want to raid.
So with the weather starting to cool, the style influencer showcases her favourite boots and talks about her unique approach to fashion and style.
I’m not willing to suffer for fashion
“My personal style is all about comfort. I’m not willing to suffer for fashion. I have to feel good. In my twenties I would experiment more, but now in my thirties, I know what looks good on me and what I feel confident in, so I tend to stick to certain formulas, usually on the more masculine side. But it’s funny to call it masculine, because I feel completely feminine in menswear-inspired looks. I’m mostly inspired by older people, people who are sure of themselves and wear their confidence well.”

Do what’s right for you
“Female empowerment is about being confident in yourself as a woman, whether that’s expressing yourself outwardly or in your skills in the workplace, not dumbing yourself down to societal pressures. Women are so diverse, both physically and mentally, and there isn’t one ‘correct’ way to be a woman. Do what’s right for you. Don’t think you have to follow trends or style guides if they don’t resonate with you. Or do, if you’re into them! The bottom line is that you should feel free and confident to be whatever version of yourself you are.
I’m in my thirties so there’s a natural style progression
“My style hasn’t evolved because of STOP IT RIGHT NOW, more so just getting older. I started in my late twenties and now I’m in my thirties so there’s a natural progression there. I pretty much dress the same - comfort based, mostly jeans and T-shirts - I just experiment less now and stick to classic pieces I know work for me. But I will never abandon my love of weird boots and coats.”
How to wear knee-high boots
“I like to think of knee-high and thigh-high boots as pants. I don’t often wear shorts or skirts because I don’t like to show my legs, so I’ll use boots to cover up the rest. I’m a big fan of the midi skirt with high boots look, it’s a modest and fully covered up look but also kind of sexy secretary.”
