Back in the 1920’s, the eldest Isaia brother, Enrico, ran a store that sold the finest fabrics to renowned Italian tailors. Over the years, and utilising his refined knowledge of bespoke suiting, he set up a workshop next door to the store. Here skilled workers crafted made-to-measure menswear that gave birth to the Neapolitan tradition so signature to the brand.

Within ten years ISAIA moved to a town just outside of Naples, Casalnuovo, where half the populations happened to be professional tailors. Here they began meticulously crafting pieces for some of the most prestigious Italian stores and by the 1980s, the brand had gone global – distributing to key markets around the world including Europe, Japan, China and America.

Currently run by the family’s third generation, ISAIA continues to herald the sartorial needle-and-thread culture. Brothers Gianluca, Enrico Jr., Massimilian and Alessandra Isaia oversaw the opening of ISAIA’s first Milan flagship store – fueling their ambition to plan and develop thirty new single-brand stores in China over the next decade.

ISAIA’s dedication to balancing ancient Neapolitan tailoring with cutting-edge technology is apparent in the small details of their craftsmanship. Notice their signatures including the slanted breast pocket (reminiscent of a typical Neapolitan fishing boat) and the small Neapolitan armholes, deliberately set high to allow for maximum comfort and perfect fit.
