“The name came from an idea to be better than your best - to be an 11 out of 10. It’s all about striving to be better tomorrow than you were yesterday and that’s a concept I follow,” says the tennis supremo who named her sports line, EleVen by Venus Williams.

The world champion, who clearly never does anything by halves, earned a degree in fashion design before launching her label. “My travels around the world and art serve as major inspiration. Athleisure has crossed into so many areas of fitness, and I want EleVen to be special and not just another brand. This is why you see a lot of bold prints and strong colours.”

“The silhouettes and styles also give everyone a choice on how they want to look and feel. Some pieces are more form-fitting, others looser. It gives you the opportunity to explore your own comfort, physique and physicality. The EleVen woman is not a wallflower.”

“All of my tennis and workout attire has to perform and seamlessly move with me and my movements. The fit has to be just right, but I also like having fun with my on-court style choices. I generally dress depending on my mood and when I’m headed to the court for a match, I’m in the zone,” says Williams.

The exclusive all white capsule spans ergonomically panelled tees, a swishy asymmetric dress and zip up track tops. A favourite for the champion herself? “I love the flutter skirt! I would wear it almost every day, and it has been in our collection since day one,” says Williams.
