The Modern Icon The Drop Chair

Designed by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen in 1958, the ‘Drop’ chair was part of the project for his masterpiece, the visionary Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

Originally produced in a limited number exclusively for the hotel’s bar and lobby, the tear-shaped chair became an icon of design that has since spent nearly 50 years in hibernation. While other designs have become ubiquitous, the Drop has never been re-released, until now.

Today, the modern classic has been re-launched by contemporary furniture makers Republic of Fritz Hansen and is available in a variety of colours that will work seamlessly in any living space.
