Graham & Felix Turl

Sports and the subsequent highs and lows are able to generate the full spectrum of emotions. For Graham Turl and his son Felix, it was Graham’s own love of football, particularly for British football club Arsenal, that paved the way for the tight-knit bond with Felix. Despite a hectic work schedule as Managing Director, General Counsel Asia Pacific at BlackRock, the shared experiences that come with playing football and supporting Arsenal are the defining points in their relationship. As is often the case, Graham is quick to set the tone straight through some careful words of wisdom: “The people who are the most successful are the ones that work hard, have good social skills, a positive attitude and who never give up." On this particular outing, Felix, was able to put aside the Arsenal stripe and suit up alongside Graham in Alex Mill to present their stylish and authentic take on casual essentials.

Adrian &
Tyler Ward-Rees

When your father oversees a large component of Lane Crawford’s menswear department, you can only assume a passion for menswear will make its way down the lineage. Adrian Ward-Rees, Director of Menswear for Lane Crawford, and his son Tyler have already formed a strong bond over fashion itself. Given his father’s role in defining the industry, it’s no surprise to see the trickle-down effect into Tyler’s own innate interest in fashion – as Adrian puts it, “He knows the stores better than I do.” An athlete in the making, Tyler trains five days a week in the swimming pool – his sport of choice – and frequently participates in triathlons with Adrian. Tyler’s own sartorial choices often mirror those of his heroes and their interests, which make technically-driven fashion such as Stone Island an apt choice.

Benni & Luis Ho

Thanks to his father Benni Ho’s title as the Editor-in-Chief at Darizi magazine, style is in the genes for five-year-old Luis. Despite Benni’s own preference towards a smart casual overtone for Luis’ wardrobe, you can’t truly blame a five-year old if his fashion interests lie within the realm of cartoon prints. However, the proverbial mix-and-match adage also applies to Benni as he often pairs cartoon tees with a blazer and check pants. An outfit incorporating Scotch & Soda’s smart casual take is the perfect look for this father-son duo. “I’m not a journalism graduate, but I love writing and doing something creative,” says Benni, underlining his belief is that it’s really about passion above all else. It’s fair to say that the road ahead for young Luis is one destined by interest and not by the status quo.

When it comes to a father’s role in shaping and educating his child, passing down hard-won style advice and a sense of sartorial ease are part of the job. Few can argue the power and influence that comes with a well-dressed man and so it is hardly surprising to see fathers put their decades of experience to good use and influence their offspring’s wardrobe choices.

And is there anything more adorable than watching a father and son perfectly in sync when it comes to their style?

Here we introduce our ‘Father and Son’ collections through the eyes of three influential men and their mini-me counterparts.
