The Philanthrophist Alia Marwah Eyres – CEO, Mother’s Choice

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Alia Marwah Eyres enjoyed a successful career as a lawyer in Hong Kong for Hogan Lovells and in New York for Skadden, until motherhood changed her life in more ways than one. Determined to make a difference, she followed her childhood dream and joined Mother’s Choice, a non-profit organisation co-founded by her parents that provides care, counseling or shelter to young mothers and their babies in Hong Kong. Today, the mother-of-two works tirelessly with dedication and unwavering passion to care for those in need.

“My main indulgence is trousers and jeans – because I am so tall, it is hard to find a good fit. If I had an unlimited budget, I would buy sheath dresses from Victoria Beckham. I love her simple, elegant and timeless style.”

The Culinary Entrepreneur Vicky Lau – Founder, Tate Dining Room and Butler

Spain may have Ferran Adria, but Hong Kong has its very own gastronomic genius in the form of Vicky Lau. Since 2012, the graphic designer-turned-chef has been cooking up a storm from her private kitchen, Tate Dining Room. Her unique, edible creations envisaged as ‘stories’ are redefining the culinary arts and have made the space one of Asia’s hottest dining spots. Her latest venture, Butler, a bespoke luxury caterer, sees her taking food alchemy to new heights.

“My style is feminine but cheeky. For autumn I am all about wearing grey tones – it’s my favourite colour and I plan to mix plenty of texture with hues of dark slate, gunmetal and charcoal.”
The Fashion Revolutionist Yvette Tang – Director, PYT

A former global equity trader turned business academic, Yvette Tang has focused her work on meaningful projects that prove that fashion can revolutionise the Chinese industry. Her most recent role as International Business Director at Beijing’s Tsinghua University saw her building a platform for the country’s emerging design talent and on an even more far-reaching scale, placing China on the international fashion map.

“My style range is quite wide, and it really depends on my mood and the occasion. It’s important to look and feel comfortable but to add a little surprise. I dress to respect myself first, then think about the occasion and people around me. We all are performance artists, no matter how casual or done-up.”
The Venture Capitalist Jennifer Zhu Scott – Managing Partner, Establish Asia

Born and brought up in Sichuan, Jennifer Zhu Scott is the epitome of China’s new generation and is carving her own successful path in the global finance world. As Managing Partner of Establish Asia, a cross-sector venture capital/private equity fund raising and advisory firm, she is a keen believer that financial investments can achieve commercial success while still being socially responsible. For a woman for whom there aren’t enough hours in the day, she also injects her energy into much-needed causes including children’s charity Music for the Growing Mind, which she co-founded.

“I am all about simplicity accented with occasional edginess and sultriness. I tend not to pay too much attention to seasonal trends and like to add whatever elements I notice and like intuitively. In the words of Diana Vreeland, ‘It’s not about the dress you wear, but it’s about the life you lead in the dress.’”
The Architect Joyce Wang – Founder, WANG

Joyce Wang made her entrance to the interior design industry with her impressive first project redesigning the cabanas of one of the most famous landmarks in Los Angeles, the Roosevelt Hotel. Since then, the 32-year-old has added a series of impressive projects to her design portfolio from launching her own furniture collection to creating the cool and chic interiors for hip dining spots like Mott 32 and Vasco in Hong Kong. With a unique approach that references everything from David Lynch films to high fashion, she is redefining the design world, one table at a time.

“I cannot live without a white pressed shirt – it sums up my style perfectly, which is androgynous, simple and greyscale. Less is always more.”
