Founded by graphic artist Melvin Tanaya and designer Lyna Ty, Australian menswear label Song for the Mute is renowned for its innovative approach to form and fabric. This season, the duo launch their debut womenswear collection, (U)NE.

Cutting-edge textiles are embedded in the brand’s DNA and to celebrate the new line, the label collaborated with one of only two mills in the world capable of the little-known technique of needle punching. With (U)NE, that philosophy is now given an enhanced grace and femininity.

“I want the Song for the Mute girl to speak one voice. She’s only just beginning to speak out and trying to make her own identity,” says Ty. “Each fabric tells a particular story, a moment in time.”
