Over the past 15 years, Melbourne-based designer Toni Matičevski has crafted a name for his modern approach to occasion dressing. His fluid lines, sculptural silhouettes and complex drapery are executed with technical mastery and an innate understanding of fabrics. His pieces work seamlessly from day to night, in particular his silk separates, which have become the designer’s signature. Founded in 2014 by Hong Kong-born Cynthia Mak and Beijing-born Xiao Xiao, the design duo blend Mak’s background in graphic and fashion design with Xiao’s knitwear expertise. The burgeoning label combines striking bold graphics with easy, minimalist shapes.
