Men’s SS16
Paris Fashion Week
Lane Crawford’s menswear team takes you through everything you need to know about Paris Fashion Week
Street style
Big Shorts
A great way to stay cool in summer’s blistering heat, oversized shorts also introduce a play on proportions into your wardrobe.
Elongated Tops
Tops with longer hemlines were popular across the catwalks and create a streamlined look, with the illusion of a slimmer and longer torso.
Hats
From baseball caps to fedoras, hats were a constant theme across the shows.
Beards
What started as a trend has now become a cornerstone of men’s style – from full to cropped or neatly groomed, a beard has become the de rigueur style accessory.
Multi-bracelet layering
Even the most everyday outfits were topped off with a medley of colourful, layered bracelets.
The Collections
Sheer
From breezy mesh at Ann Demeulemeester to Givenchy’s transparent graphic and delicate sheers at Dries Van Noten, the coming season is all about barely-there shirt fabrications, perfect for beating the heat.
Fluidity
A sense of ease and fluidity ran through collections, with flowing trench coats, billowing trousers and long-line capes exuding an artistic aesthetic.
1970s
Acne’s modern take on the 1970s saw models take to the runway in skinny ribbed dresses paired with flares and rock-star aviator shades. The brand’s refreshing gender-neutral collection was strong on prints and on principles. Look out for our introduction of Acne swimwear to Lane Crawford menswear in Spring Summer 2016.
Bottom Heavy
Bottom-heavy styles in the form of relaxed peg trousers and knee-length baggy shorts are key go-to styles this summer and will carry on through to next year.
Elevated Denim
With designers like Givenchy and Haider Ackermann reinterpreting denim in soft tunic henleys, workwear coats and drop-crotch trousers, denim comes in myriad forms now, and is a far cry from jeans alone.
Geometric Prints
Classic patterns including plaid, zig-zag and stripes are this season’s hero prints, as seen at sacai, Givenchy, Kolor and Kenzo.
The Balenciaga Military Jacket
Balenciaga delivered a collection inspired by the beauty and architecture of Brazil, the standout hero piece being this military jacket, which combines functionality and style.
Blurry Camouflage
In its latest collection, Kolor delivered an exceptionally creative wardrobe of contrasting fabric textures and a subtle colour palette. The blurred camouflage print is a romantic twist on the military classic, and will be a key print for Spring Summer 2016.
Dries Van Noten’s Surrealism
One of the key looks from the collections, Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols and the surrealism of Salvador Dali inspired Dries Van Noten’s punk-slash-art aesthetic.
The People
Eugene Tong
The style director of Details magazine has his style nailed: a signature tailored streetwear aesthetic that the fashion scene can’t get enough of.
Milan Vukmirovic
Another street-style favourite, Vukmirovic consistently elevates basics like white tees, field jackets and shawl cardigans with his effortless style.
Nick Wooster
A true master of style, Wooster is the ultimate modern dandy. His innate knack for matching a put-together upper half with a sharp, sporty trouser or short has made him a street-style king.
The Hot Spots
Les Bains
The bar at Les Bains is a remarkable display of the hotel’s epic architecture and, during Fashion Week, the go-to spot for socialising between shows. With a revamped club frequented by the likes of Jagger and Bowie in their heyday, it’s become the hub for stylish downtime.

Silencio
One of the most popular spots during Fashion Week, what sets Silencio apart is its ability to transform into more than just your typical club. Consisting of a photo gallery, a cinema, a library, two bars and a stage, Silencio is the result of American film director David Lynch’s visions. For Spring Summer 2016, the venue played host to Faith Connexion’s after party.

Brasserie Barbès
Located in the 18th arrondissement’s Barbès neighborhood, Brasserie Barbès has floor-to-ceiling windows making it a great people-watching spot during Fashion Week. Spread across four floors, this restaurant can be whatever you want it to be: a club, bar, café or pit stop.
