GIAMBA

Fashion’s jack-of-all-trades, Nicola Formichetti, is at it again. Not only is he the artistic director for Diesel, creative fashion director of Uniqlo and stylist to the stars, but this season, he’s taking his cult cartoon brand Nicopanda to the next level with a fully fledged fashion label. Described by Formichetti as “Harajuku meets downtown New York,” the high-energy collection is a mash-up of his Japanese-Italian heritage and his New York to London lifestyle.
ANNA K
The newest street-style star doesn’t hail from New York, Paris or Shanghai, but from the unexpected streets of Ukraine’s capital, Kiev. Anna Kolomoets, known as Anna K, is the fashion world’s latest and youngest style sensation. At 18, she is both a model and a designer, with a collection filled with delicate silk and chiffon creations that embody girlish fantasies and won her Vogue Italia’s Design.it contest last year. The must-haves are her naughty-but-nice slogan tees that poke fun at fashion industry clichés.
SELF-PORTRAIT
Founded by Malaysian-born Han Chong, new contemporary label Self-Portrait fuses classic feminine design with an urban point of view. Now based in London, Chong launched the label in 2013 in a bid to provide an accessible and contemporary brand. Contrasting hard and soft silhouettes in experimental fabrics and unexpected textures, Chong’s designs are inspired by street style with a feminine yet modern edge. From wow-worthy cocktail dresses to transitional city wear, Self-Portrait could be your newest wardrobe secret yet.
LOEWE
Fashion is about transformation and the reinvention of the established. No one knows this better than 168-year-old Spanish house Loewe, who has appointed Jonathan Anderson as creative director. Anderson’s ability to transform tradition into an exciting modern vision has culminated in this season’s new takes on house classics.
PAULA CADEMARTORI
Paula Cademartori’s bags first gained popularity when street style’s biggest stars Anna Dello Russo and Miroslava Duma were snapped in her vibrant pieces. Since being ranked among the most promising names of Italian creativity, the Brazil-born Milan-based designer has gone from strength to strength. Her designs strike a delicate balance between functionality, colour and geometric shapes, perfect for adding whimsy to any Spring Summer look.
COMME MOI
After 15 years walking the runways for Alexander McQueen and Lanvin, Lu Yan, one of China’s first international supermodels, is breaking new ground with her debut fashion line, Comme Moi. The emerging label is an embodiment of Lu’s confident style; full of easy and chic pieces with a sophisticated sports element. Comme Moi is also part of Lane Crawford’s ‘Created in China’ program, in which we nurture and champion new and emerging talent from the region.
GAYDAMAK
Growing up between Moscow, London, New York, Paris and Tel Aviv, sisters Katia and Sonia Gaydamak look for cultural and architectural inspiration from the past “to reinterpret the ancient”. Their eponymous brand is a fusion of their personalities and the result is a collection of intricately futuristic pieces, including the signature hand bracelet that counts Natalia Vodianova as a fan.
FYODOR GOLAN
Ever since taking home the Fashion Fringe Award in 2011, London-based women’s label Fyodor Golan has become a name to watch. The design duo – made up of married couple Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman – have become known for their feminine, otherworldly designs. Hailing from a fine arts background which inspires their geometrical silhouettes, intricate hand-detailing and modern studies in colour, their brand’s philosophy is summed up in just three words: “Expressive, emotional and sexual”.
SOPHIE BILLE BRAHE
Danish designer Sophie Brille Brahe is one of jewellery’s most-lauded emerging talents. Her cool girl jewellery subverts any old-fashioned perceptions of the pearl and has been seen on the earlobes and fingers of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Keira Knightley and Emma Watson. During her training at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art she began to develop the innovative, understated yet modern jewellery designs that she has come to be known for today.
