STYLESIGHT: LANVIN

The runway show os Lanvin was incredible, but that can in no way, even give you the smallest indication of how Lanvin was in the showroom. To say that the buying team fell in love with it is an understatement. Stay tuned for the next video for a journey into the Lane Crawford buy.

STYLESIGHT: RAF SIMONS

Sporty velcro pieced and blocked and literally pulled together Raf Simons' collection. We loved the snapper popper buttons on the jackets. Colour blocked knits with an elongated "cummerbund" skity - velcro closures on knits and parkas gave the signature modernism we expect from the master of it.

SNEAK PEEK: DRIES VAN NOTEN

This was Dries Van Noten's best men's show in many seasons. It was a standout for the mixing of khaki, drawstring jersey sweatpants, navy jackets with piping, puffa jackets in stripes and sleeveless jackets, along with clean camels, khakis and navy classic Dries pieces - blending all the key looks of the season effortlessly. It was an extremely nuanced masculine collection.

The Fall/Winter 2010 collection of Ann Demeulemeester is the epitome of the Poetic Romance trend of the season.

STYLESIGHT: JUNYA WATANABE

At Junya Watanabe, we saw the runway open with a tribute to the jazz age of the late-’50s early ’60s. Junya's tailored skinny cropped suits were not as “typical” as first seemed — the pants were jean silhouettes and black leather inserts added a new dimension to the collection. We loved Junya’s famed parkas, that came with corduroy or check inserts, as well as his new coat collaborations with Gloverall and Mackintosh, the well-renowned English heritage brands. Junya Watanabe has been certainly “the designer” that others have looked to for research and has he has certainly influenced a whole new meaning and identity to the word “heritage” and to where fashion is heading.

SNEAK PEEK: OPENING CEREMONY

Our buying team was totally inspired at the Opening Ceremony showroom in Paris. There’s a great deal about the “great outdoors” mood of the new collection. Traditional manly, outdoorsy pursuits — be it, skiing, mountaineering, hunting, riding or hiking — were strong influences. The style is about layering up against the elements or sleeping under the stars or escaping to a log cabin somewhere. The new Opening Ceremony collaboration with Pendleton woollen mills truly evokes this “great outdoors” feel.

Not only did we love the fashion — the accessories were even more irresistible!
