Hyper Function

Designers are turning their geek obsessions with functionality and fabric into high style with a roster of high performing pieces including lightweight nylon parkas, trekking shorts and flight pants in earthy tones. From the likes of Cottweiler and nanamica and Magic Stick, these are pieces that you can rely on to protect you from the elements and flatter your survivalist spirit.

The New Corporate

Who’d have thought that your dad’s short sleeved shirt and penchant for tucking his sweater into high waisted pants could become the new emblems of style? In the hands of Y/Project, Indice Studio, Stone Island and Kiko Kostadinov, those once maligned items sported by blue collar workers have been refashioned. Shirts and narrow ties, single breasted macs, spencer jackets and outsize suits take centre stage. Consider them perks of the job.

Mr. Brightside

A clever play with colour is bringing a new energy into everyday wear. Find polo shirts and sweatshirt tops in cobalt blue, fire engine red, chrome yellow; shirt jackets in bold stripes and tailoring in a whole spectrum of shades. As they say, always look on the bright side.
