Gloss, with its dewy, wet texture (not to be confused with flatter, milder, shine) is having its moment. After a hiatus since the early 2000’s, the glossy look began trickling back a few seasons ago, starting with the return of lip gloss. This season, that high-shine has been dialed all the way up - from lacquered lips and limbs, to wet-look hair, ultra-high shine cheeks and patent eyelids. Fashion designers are getting in on the trend too, with Valentino, Lanvin and Proenza Schouler all sashaying pants and jackets down the Autumn Winter 2016 runways in luxe fabrics so shiny they resembled plastic.

The most wearable way to wear the trend is by adding a dose of dew to your eyes, hair and lips. To discover the best way to approach each look, we enlisted the help of three makeup and hair maestros for their expert tips.
