If there is one designer whose clothes can fully satisfy the style needs of modern women who are balancing work and life, it’s Natasa Cagalj. As the Creative Director for Ports 1961’s womenswear line, a brand founded to create ‘perfect’ everyday shirts, Cagalj designs work-appropriate separates that feel exciting and playful - far from an easy trick to pull-off. Just three seasons into her role, the minimal, well-tailored pieces that she designs for the 55-year-old label hit the sweet spot between formal and casual, wearable and experimental.

This season, Lane Crawford collaborates with the label to create an exclusive capsule collection designed by Cagalj to offer our version of Ports 1961’s timeless wardrobe essentials. The exclusive pieces, including shirts, trousers, dresses and knitwear, will be indispensible for women looking to bridge the sometimes-tricky workwear and casualwear divide.

Cagalj is a dab hand at mannish tailoring and easy minimalism as executed in relaxed-fit trousers, asymmetric knitwear and crisp white shirts that echo the pared back 1990s aesthetic that she explored for her Autumn Winter 2016 collection.

While separates are clean and streamlined, they include unexpected details like detachable sleeves, pom-pom strings, fringed edges and touches of vibrant pink. Flattering and luxurious - these are confidence-boosting items for any woman’s closet.
