With holidays and getaways now being an all-year-round pursuit, designers are applying themselves to high days and holiday wear with a newly found zeal. The mission is to deliver standout pieces that will also have a role in your life back home.

Standout also means ‘rare’ and to that end, we’ve collaborated with a host of global tastemakers to create special capsules. Brooklyn-based Rosie Assoulin, who is known for her play on volume, has cast a series of tops including balloon and helicopter sleeve styles in cotton and silk faille in shades from pea green to lemon yellow. “You want to ‘live’ your life and I don’t think being pulled, pushed and tucked in all directions allows for that freedom - I do aim to make everything look effortless, comfortable, elegant and clean,” says Assoulin.

These are the kind of pieces that bring a lot to the party. As are the cotton ruffle off-the-shoulder tops and fishtail dresses with floral prints by Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz that are made for dancing under the stars. This current wave of Latino-influenced ruffles and flounces bring the holiday mood straight to you. Brazilian Fernando Jorge, who plies his craft between Sao Paulo and East London, has a similar passion for fluid, organic forms. His fine jewelry pieces wrap and slither around the body erotically rather than beam ‘show –off’.

From Australia, find the label Zimmermann, with its broderie anglaise pants and playsuits, while Temperley London’s offerings include embroidered cotton smock dresses and blouses inspired by Havana. From America, there are the smart-thinking bikinis from Lisa Marie Fernandez with twin set style tops that you can slip on with a tiered skirt when called to a poolside lunch or if you want to protect your shoulders from sunburn with the sunroof down.

Esteemed, heritage brand Globe-Trotter captures the essence of Italian and British craftsmanship complementing the lifestyle of the modern jet setter with its limited-edition collaboration with Missoni. The beautifully handcrafted luggage features an indigo and emerald green print and made its debut on Missoni’s Spring Summer 2016 runway in Milan.

We’ve also gathered together tasseled towels from The Beach People, striking jewellery and a treat for your feet in the shape of Sanayi 313’s tasseled and pom-pom slippers. Please send us a postcard.
