“The collection is a modern way of thinking about, not just design, but the way you’re dressing everyday and being ready for that.”
Playing with form and function, Raeburn was keen that each piece was multi-functional, and able to work for a multitude of occasions. “Wherever possible, having layering flexibility to the collection provides people with a choice. Even if you’re talking about a bomber jacket, you can wear that to an event or as outerwear for work or the airport. I love the bags as well because they are completely adaptable. It’s really about what a person needs for the everyday,” explains Raeburn.
“For me personally though, the collection is underpinned by sustainability,” the designer says. Sustainability is, after all, the driving force behind everything Raeburn creates and each piece in the capsule is embedded with considered thought. Every fabric from recycled polyester to the Schoeller 4-way stretch was certified by the Bluesign system for sustainable textile production.
The collaboration features Raeburn’s trademark deconstruction, reworking iconic MCM signatures into new pieces and patterns. In one such case, Raeburn takes the MCM logo backpack and reinterprets it into a bomber jacket. A sophisticated translation of modern travel that brings together two worlds, we can’t wait to see what’s next.
