We all have our vices, but when it comes to shoes, it is all too easy to take the guilty pleasure to the next level; for nothing is as seductive as a pair of sky-high sculptural heels or as satisfying as finding the perfect pair of flats that take you from day to night and everything in between.

For style icon Evangelie Smyrniotaki (@styleheroine) - who relishes in her shoe obsession - her shoe closet is paradise on earth. “My shoe obsession is on a very serious level. Really, I don’t even know how many shoes I own,” she cheekily admits.

“I have a room dedicated almost solely to shoes with three walls of shelves because I love to see them. I am lucky as my mum and my bestie wear the same size as me so I know that when my shoe closet becomes too packed - which happens too often - I can ask them to come over and select the ones they want.”

“My favourite way to wear a pair of sky high heels is to pair with them with pants which are cropped just above the ankle. It’s statement dressing, understated but sexy, and a killer look for the evening.”

The style heroine, who describes her style as a mix between masculine and feminine, never shies away from bold colours - though you will rarely see her in print - recommends dressing down heels with a pair of jeans. “You can kind of hide them inside long wide high-waist pants; this trick will make your legs look as long as days.”

And her go-to shade pedicure shade? “Scarlet red forever, of course.”
