London is unlike every other fashion capital; a hotbed of young and emerging talent that continually pushes the fashion agenda forward and has become known as the breeding ground for unrivalled creativity. British fashion has always been unabashedly in your face and never shies away from breaking the rules. Here, we ask fashion stylist and editor Grace Lam to show us how to wear London’s most critically lauded designers.

“It is every woman’s dream to have a closet full of Erdem’s signature lace-jembroidered pieces and this look is no exception. This loose cut-out organza dress is great for an unexpected office look, perfect for women working in a creative industry who need something to take them from day through to night. I’ve styled this dress with a pair of similar-toned lace Nicholas Kirkwood booties and a bright Stella McCartney bag to add an extra jolt of colour. Finish off the look with a pair of killer shades.”

“When I was living in London and working for i-D magazine, I met Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi from Preen. Their London [fashion] show has always been popular with insiders as their collections are fashion-forward but very easy to wear. This head-to-toe graphic print look, for example, is great for going to an art gallery or high-profile event as it’s modern yet feminine. I paired this outfit with the Charlotte Olympia chilli-print transparent box clutch for some extra spice. I love this look as it’s fresh and modern without being over the top.”

“With her fine and sophisticated tailoring, Victoria Beckham has helped the modern woman feel sexy and confident. This little black dress is every woman’s wardrobe essential; perfect for a dinner date, it’s sexy, sophisticated and figure-hugging so will show off your curves. With the classic black dress, don’t be afraid to play up the accessories; here I opted for a pair of towering Charlotte Olympia heels and a black Alexander McQueen skull clutch to add edge to a classic style. A tweed biker jacket also lightens up the all-black look.”

“For me, Peter Pilotto is the king of modern prints. The design duo’s signature prints are always fun, loud and perfectly put together. This weekend look is great for those who want to run errands around town but don’t want to compromise on style. Just because you’re having a casual weekend, doesn’t mean you have to look any less glamorous! Stella McCartney’s superhero cross-body bag adds some serious fun to this daytime look.”
