A former editor at Harper’s Bazaar, Thakoon Panichgul has a signature style that wistfully floats between ethereal elegance and urban confidence. Born in Thailand, raised in Omaha, and now based in New York, Panichgul has a penchant for blending distinctly different influences into his work, imparting a feminine spirit and modernized minimalism into a youthful, elegant line. Having first studied business at Boston University, Panichgul moved to New York to learn about the fashion industry from behind the scenes — first about production, then merchandising. He ended up at Parsons School of Design to learn the craft, and presented his first ready-to-wear collection in 2004. In 2006, he was one of three recipients of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and nominated as the Best Emerging Womenswear Designer. A master of beautifully crafted, feminine designs that are romantic, sensual and intelligent — reflective of his own endearing personality — he has developed a devoted cult following worldwide.
