Sharon Wauchob

Irish-born designer Sharon Wauchob brings an unpredictable, unconventional edge to the world of contemporary luxury. Concentrating on the industrial experimentation of material and form, as well as delightfully championing “intellectual couture” design, her garments marry solid tailoring with ultra-womanly touches and intricate detailed finishings. Graduating with first class honours from Central Saint Martins, Wauchob’s innovative looks and masterful execution quickly set her apart. Her first job was with Paris-based designer Koji Tatsuno, under who she developed her knowledge of textiles and honed her design style that favours Japan-influenced asymmetrical cuts and ingenious drapery. Later, an in-house designer at Louis Vuitton, she cultivated her skills of inventiveness and experimentation. Wauchob launched her eponymous line in 1999 in Paris, and has since succeeded in becoming a highly acclaimed prêt-à-porter label. Once described by fashion press as “the protectress of edgy modernism,” Wauchob is definitely the heroine of alternative high fashion.
