Minnetonka

Minnetonka represents the tall-tale traditions of Native American footwear — specifically, the moccasin. The brand originated in Hennepin County, Minnesota, where the territory’s Ojibway and Chippewa people inspired the tribal shoe. Created in 1946, Minnetonka moccasins quickly became a casual classic, as Americans took to travelling the continental U.S. post-war and explored the country’s natural beauty. Each pair of slip-on moccasins is still traditionally made in hand-stitched moose hide, with deerskin soft-soles. All Minnetonka shoes, which range from knee-high fringe to zip-up booties, embody the brand’s free-spirited heritage and have subsequently been adored by celebrities such as supermodel Kate Moss and actress Rachel Bilson.
