At Paris Fashion Week in 2007, Delfina Delettrez Fendi debuted her jewellery collection to much fanfare. A young designer with a familiar name but an enticingly unfamiliar vision, she is redefining jewellery design with a mix of gothic-romanticism and tongue-in-cheek humour. Skulls and certain not-the-cuddliest of animals are early themes in a collection made for strong women with a sense of humour and the macabre. Delfina Delettrez creations would look perfectly at home on the figure of Morticia Addams or Elizabeth Taylor. While not for the classically addicted, they never abandon the inherent glamour in jewellery that makes it the alluring spectacle it is.
