Car Shoe is one of Italy’s most classic, dynamic brands in the men’s and women’s footwear and accessories market. Founded in 1963 by artisan Gianni Mostile, who shared a passion for both racing cars and handmade shoes, Car Shoe is best known for its signature moccasin made with a sole of tiny rubber nubs. The inventive design even earned a patent from the Italian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and established a following among powerful men revered as style icons, including John F. Kennedy and Roberto Rossellini. Prada Group acquired control of Car Shoe in 2001, opening flagship stores in Milan and Capri over the next two years and introducing the line internationally. The brand’s first women’s shoes and bag collections were launched in 2004. Car Shoe’s classic driving shoe is now available in a wide range of colours and leathers, and even in a new children's collection.
