Sigerson Morrison was launched in New York in 1991 by Nebraska-native Kari Sigerson and the English-born Miranda Morisson, who met as students at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. They began to hand-make shoes in their Tribeca studio, soon grew it into a fully produced line, and later moved their entire production process to northern Italy. In 1997, Sigerson Morrison won the Perry Ellis Award for Best New Accessory Design from the Council of Fashion Designers in America. In 2004, the Belle by Sigerson Morrison younger line was launched, named after Kari’s daughter Eva Belle. This range exhibits the same high fashion allure as Sigerson Morrison, but with edgier style and at cushier prices.
