MIMI SO

From a young age, Mimi So began working in her family’s atelier learning the entire process of jewellery making. While the end product is glamorous, jewellery making has its share of grunt work and Mimi grew up watching artisans transform materials into everlasting creations. The demands in the So family for their work was “perfection”, a standard that Mimi brought upon her debut collection when she opened her first boutique in New York’s famed diamond district. International recognition grew and culminated in a personal commission from David Bowie and Iman to design jewellery for their wedding. Mimi So is femininity, extravagant glamour, evolving creativity and meticulous to the point of obsession. Says Mimi, “people ask me why I insist on such high standards for every single piece. Well, my name goes on them, that’s why.”
