Designer Overview: Always in tune with the city-girl zeitgeist, Chinese-American designer Alexander Wang has created a consistently identifiable look of casual urbanity that juxtaposes street with luxe, sexy versus androgynous, vagabond against modernist, since his 2004 debut. In 2009, the sartorial star launched the democratically minded T by Alexander Wang diffusion line, ranging from tanks to tees and T-shirt dresses, all cut in his signature languid style at very pretty price points. “Necklines are stretched and armholes are strategically lowered so that it looks worn in,” Wang explains. “It’s like sleeping in a T-shirt and then wearing it the next day.
