Designer Overview: Reputed as a purveyor of elegant, luxurious shoes, Magnanni represents the best of artisanal Italian tradition. The brand was launched in 1988 following the restructuring of Blanco y Garcia, a shoemaking company set up by Sebastian Blanco and Antonio Garcia in 1956. After the Blanco family took full ownership of the company, Sebastian’s only son, Pascual Blanco Martinez, redirected the business to create Magnanni shoes. Trained in shoe pattern and design since the age of 14, the craftsman became head designer of his father’s company just two years later. His own six children have now entered the family business, evolving it for the contemporary world and expanding it for global enterprise. Sourcing from across France, Italy and Spain, Magnanni uses the best leathers to ensure superior quality, with colouring and finishing done by hand at its factories to ensure richness and uniqueness. Manufactured under a complex, labour-intensive “glove construction” process that makes each shoe incredibly flexible, the final touches are hand-done in traditional ways to ensure the Magnanni trademarks of classic style, best fit, sheer comfort and lasting durability.
