Designer Overview:
Ksubi was born due to some free unexpected exhibition space at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week 2000 — and has since evolved into its own underground subculture known for its modern-punk aesthetic with soft-core rebellious roots, energetic artistry and humorous wit. Led by co-founders Dan Single and George Gorrow, Ksubi is today internationally recognised as one of the most individual and notorious brands on the hipster market that continuously conceptually champions fashion, music, design and art. Named nonsensically — Ksubi is not a word — to describe the guys’ uprising movement, the brand is still, at its core, about a creative collective who just wants to have fun. The company slogan, “This is only a holiday, not a honeymoon,” represents the overriding philosophy of always enjoying the moment. And, with just one look at Ksubi’s signature denim range, topical fashion style and funked-up eyewear for men and women, it’s evident that the holiday is not over for a while yet.
