FRENCH SOLE

Founded by art lover and designer Jane Winkworth in 1989, French Sole was conceived as the original concept company dedicated only to ballet-style footwear. Growing from a mail-order business in Jane’s Chelsea basement to a global presence today, the designs of French Sole are of an everlasting appeal and richly diverse for all occasions. Jane Winkworth, now semi-retired, still designs all shoes and artwork related to the brand. Comfort and style are both ever-present trademarks of French Sole and counted among its most devoted fans was the late Princess of Wales.
