MICHAEL YOUNG

British born, Hong Kong based designer, Michael Young is known for his humorous yet functional products and furniture. Young lives by the motto �You can�t take yourself too seriously�, and his work definitely reflects his light-hearted attitude. His early �woven steel� works were acquired by institutions such as Centre Pompidou and the Louve in Paris. His �Mid-Nineties� furnishings for E&Y Tokyo are said to have created a new formal language in design. Young has also claimed his influences were drawn from his real life experiences, whether he lived in London, Iceland, Belgium or in Hong Kong. Young�s designs of curved contours and bright colours not only embrace technology, and push the limits of innovation, they are also to cross boarders and bring smiles to all faces.
